Zero to fluent in Spanish in 9 months

Since starting work on improving my  Spanish communication skills several years ago, one consistent source of learning excellence has been Ben and Marina at Notes in Spanish. Ben is a ten year English born resident of Madrid who has teamed up with a skilled madrileña teacher, Marina.  We started by downloading many of the Notes in Spanish Advanced podcasts, and continue to listen to them as we travel in the car.  I think this couple go beyond simply being another internet Spanish learning web site, and recommend these folks to anyone wanting to improve such language skills.  It is interesting to see how Marina corrects Ben, and how skilled she is with the language.  It is also easy to see the large following they have worldwide.  After putting the Sociedad Hispana Doylestown web link on the Notes in Spanish forum, our website traffic increased markedly.  The Notes in Spanish home page can be found here:

Many of the recommendations made in the link below are aimed at those just beginning to learn Spanish, while others are meant for higher ability levels.  Can a beginner go from zero to fluent in 9 months?

  1. Me parece muy difícil aprender un idioma en 9 meses, pero cosas más complicadas se han visto.

  2. Si. También le definición de fluidez es impreciso.
