El Arte Español del Mañana * 1983 *

Un buen prestamo del gobierno español a la ciudad de New York: 1983

"Neo-Expressionism rears its head in the work of Antonio Posada, whose cartoony figures disport in flaky scenarios, and in that of Mon Montoya, a creator of froglike creatures that explore alien objects and surroundings. There's a photo-realist, Jose Maria Cuasante, who does ho-hum street scenes with far less agility than the camera.

Of two painterly abstractionists, Fernando Bermejo is the more interesting; his ''Rushes,'' done in oil on stucco, comprises a panel of 20 narrow vertical strips, each one a mini abstract painting in itself whose surface is delicately marked and stroked with multiple colors - the whole an impressive sum of all its parts".
