While the marvelous old steak house La Cabaña that I visited several times over the last 30-40 years is long gone, the Travel Section of Wall Street Journal uses the Actor (Robert Duval), The Foodie (Narda Lopes) , The Music Man ( Gustavo Santaolalla), and finally Marta Minujín (the Artist) to describe many of their favorite restaurants, hotels, shops, etc. All of these people have Argentine connections-as the article points out.
Now I wish I understood how the Argentine economy functions with perpetual high inflation, sovereign debt default a few years back, and even taxation on exports, while maintaining the aura of the good life in the European style. Maybe an astute blog follower can help me!
