This recently published book by Professor M. Restall challenges the characterization of Aztecs laid out by historical chroniclers. Having always thought William Prescott, Bernal Castillo, Bartolomé de las Casas and others authored the true story, the Wall Street Journal extensive review in 27 Jan edition of the book at heading leads me to read this book to see if there is "another side" to the story. Could it be true aztec human sacrifice has been well overstated by earlier scribes?
