NYT yesterday published an article, one of a series, describing the view from various writer's windows.
The widow of Jorge Borges has described the view from his window, giving the reader some insight into the author of Ficciones-a book previously read by the Sociedad Hispana bookclub. It does, however, take more than a description of the view from his window, to get me to a point of understanding this author. Of Argentine authors I prefer Ernesto Sábato, or Domingo Sarmiento. The latter writer has an interesting tombstone. Should blog readers ever find themselves in Buenos Aires, Sarmiento is resting happily not too far away from the well visited Evita Perón tombstone(is she really there?) in the Recoleta cemetary.
