The New York Times today has a travel narrative on Valle de Bravo-a weekend spot for wealthy Mexicans and foriegners. Historically, it was a retreat for equestrian interests as well as folks interested in sailing on the beautiful lake. It is at altitude, and I recall the surrounding pine forests gave a marvelous scent to the area. From reading the attached article, it looks like it has also become a bit of a spiritual-Woodsctock NY-equivalent haven.
