The most American of all Mexican holidays

Next week we celebrate "Cinco de Mayo."  In the United States I think it is a creation of Budweiser, Corona, and a few others, but why not?   This link, from Mexconnect provides the background as to why this is a holiday in Mexico, but less celebrated than in the US.
